Interesting Finds from Ribe

In October of 2019, Sydvestjyske Museer in Ribe made the very cool decision to release a massive catalogue of their finds to the internet. Around 60,000 of those finds were tagged as being from the Viking Age, and so I spent a couple of days going through the database and picking out the most interesting stuff. I’ve posted them below, with a link to the item on the database itself. A list of the items is under their section on the table of contents below for easier navigation.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, but it is stuff that I either found very interesting or thought were particularly fine examples of more common items. I still recommend going through the whole list if you find yourself with time.

At the very least I’d recommend clicking through to the linked pages – many of the items have many more images from different angles.
